‘Great Big Book of Awesome’ 3D Pop-Up Game Case Study

The Opportunity

Toys”R”Us and its advertising agency, BBDO, wanted to create excitement around their annual holiday ‘Big Book’ while motivating users to download their new Geoffrey Shuffle App. The goal was to keep users coming back daily to engage with the ‘Great Big Book of Awesome’ (their largest issue ever at 96 pages) during the holiday retail season.

THE SOLUTION

The Geoffrey Shuffle App enabled users to interact with the ‘Great Big Book of Awesome’ by unlocking a 3D pop-up game where users picked from three wrapped boxes to see if Geoffrey was inside. After engaging with the virtual reality experience, users saw a call-to-action to win a $2,000 gift card and a Beaches Vacation. Users proceeded to a PromoPick sweepstakes for the chance to win a variety of daily and grand prizes. Users arriving directly from the app received an extra entry into the sweepstakes. The streamlined user experience drove incredible response and the Toys R Us Awesome campaign was even featured in AdAge!
