How Do You Notify Winners?
Selecting and notifying winners is a critical step in your promotion. How winners are contacted at the end of your promotion will vary based on the entry method(s) used within the call to entry. There are four (4) common means of outreach across digital promotions:
- Email: Send an email to winners at the address they provided during registration. Send them instructions on how to redeem their prize and/or when to expect to receive it.
- Phone Call: Call winners at the phone number provided to let them know that they’ve won. You can optionally leave a voice mail if they do not pick up.
- Social Media (Direct Message): For social media promotions, send a direct message to winners giving them instructions on how to provide their information and redeem their prizes.
- SMS/Text Message: Send a text message to winners giving them instructions on how to provide their information and redeem their prizes. Before sending text messages to winners, ensure that you collected all necessary opt-ins during registration
For some promotions, it might make sense to reach out through multiple methods to ensure quick prize redemption and winner confirmation. For example, if your prize is time sensitive, consider sending an email and following up with a phone call.
