Campaign Overview

Realtime Media partnered with Hershey to create the Reese’s 4th Quarter Comfort promotion. This initiative aimed to strengthen brand engagement and leverage an exciting strategic partnership with the NBA, tying the indulgence of Reese’s treats to the excitement of the NBA Canada Series.

Launched in collaboration with Sobeys, a leading Canadian supermarket chain, the “Unwrap 4th Quarter Comfort” campaign creatively linked the stress of watching a close game with the sweet relief of enjoying Reese’s. The sweepstakes offered enticing prizes, including weekly grocery gift cards and a grand prize trip to the NBA Canada Series game in Montreal.

Our Solution

We developed a comprehensive sweepstakes campaign centered on a purchase-based entry mechanism (with an AMOE option). Building on the success of the first phase, the campaign rolled directly into a relaunched second phase, continuing to deliver strong results.

Our Approach:

  • Receipt-Based Submission: Over six weeks, Canadian consumers were invited to participate by purchasing two qualifying Hershey products at Sobeys or other participating retailers. To enter, participants simply uploaded a photo of their receipt, creating a seamless and user-friendly experience. With one entry allowed per weekly prize period, the campaign effectively incentivized repeat purchases, driving ongoing consumer engagement and sales momentum.
  • Compelling Prizes: The promotion’s grand prize offered an unforgettable experience: a trip for the winner and up to three guests to attend the NBA Canada Series game in Montreal, complete with round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations. Weekly prizes of $100 grocery gift cards, redeemable at Sobeys and other participating stores, sustained excitement and encouraged consistent participation throughout the campaign, ensuring strong engagement.
  • International Campaign Administration: We developed a seamless, bilingual microsite tailored to the Canadian market and managed the winner selection process, ensuring compliance with local regulations and a transparent, fair drawing experience.
